- Billing and shipping names, companies and addresses are prepared for comparison. Original details remain available to read alongside the result.
- Find possible matches
- RuleNorth compares names with supported source records and aliases. Differences in spelling and the available address or country evidence contribute to the result.
- Show the evidence by party
- Possible matches stay grouped under the billing or shipping party that produced them. Your team can inspect supporting details, differences, missing information and the source.
Read a similar name in context.
Similarity describes how closely names resemble each other. It cannot tell you the probability that someone is a restricted party or that an order is unlawful.
A source may have an alias or address that adds useful context. It may also lack information your team needs. A shared name, a different country or a missing detail each needs to be considered with the rest of the evidence.

Choose a matching preference.
These settings adjust name matching for future checks. They leave earlier screening evidence and completed decisions unchanged.
Broad
Allows more name variation to reach review. It can increase the number of orders your team examines.
Narrow
Requires closer name resemblance for those review checks. It can reduce reviews while missing some variations.
Finish the review with a reason.
Your team reviews the current order and records Proceed or Do not proceed with its rationale. The reviewer, time and evidence stay with the decision.
Understand all four statusesWhen a result needs more work
Missing identity information can require review even without a possible name match. A check without a current valid result stays Pending, with progress or problem details available.
Important billing or shipping changes receive a fresh check. A Shopify display-update problem is shown separately from the saved screening result. Holds, cancellations and fulfillment remain actions your team performs in Shopify.
